Uses & Properties of Nanoparticles

Uses and properties of nanoparticles

These nanoparticles have many uses and are used in an array of industries due to its properties. Nanoparticles can be used in:

  • Cosmetics. They are used in creams, deodorants and suncreams. They can be absorbed much deeper into the skin for instance in a suncream they are more effective against UV protection.
  • Medicine. They can be used to deliver drugs and for wound dressings. For instance fullerenes can be used to deliver medication around the body as it can be absorbed more easily by the body. Also, silver nanoparticles can be used to coat dressings and make surgical masks because of its antibacterial properties.
  • Technology. They can be used in computers. For instance can be used to make wire which improves speed within computers.
