I’m Charlotte, a third year Natural Sciences student at the University of Cambridge, and I would love to help you achieve your academic potential! With a proven track record of academic excellence at GCSE, and A level (4 A*) I have maintained a wide scope of discipline whilst at university. Before finding a passion for History and Philosophy of Science this year, I have previously taken university modules in Mathematics, Physics, Materials Science and Earth Sciences, making full use of the diversity the Cambridge Natural Sciences course provides. With over 5 years tutoring experience in the sciences and maths, I have developed an enthusiastic and positive approach to help you achieve your potential. I’m a strong believer in practice exam questions as the key to success, so not only will I deal with the challenging concepts of the syllabus with clarity but teach you how to best apply this knowledge to an exam situation. I am unique in that as a Cambridge Organ Scholar I was able to apply to both Oxford and Cambridge, and thus have gone through the preparations for entrance exams and interviews for both institutions, before receiving an unconditional offer from Cambridge. This means I’m highly equipped to tutor both the NSAA and the PAT, as well as skilled at helping you to master the environment of the Oxbridge interview. Hi! I am a second year medical student at UCL and I am keen to help other aspiring medics with the application process. Having recently been involved in the application process, my understanding of what medical schools are interested in is current, which is important for interview preparation. Additionally, having recently taken the BMAT and UCAT, I know all the techniques and strategies to achieve a high score which got me interviews at Cambridge, UCL, Bristol and Birmingham. I also achieved a 43 in the IB this year, taking HL Maths AA, Biology, and Chemistry and am happy to tutor in all of those subjects. With experience tutoring students in Maths and Sciences for the past two years, I have gained a good insight into adapting my teaching techniques and explanations for different students, ensuring each student understands topics and ideas clearly and effectively.

Hi! I am a recent Cambridge University Graduate who has spent the last year working at one of the most prestigious international schools in Thailand in the music department. During my time there, I led GCSE Music Revision and GCSE Music Theory classes, assisted with personal statements and coached an A-Level music student for her Oxford interview (she received an offer!). In my spare time, I love to compose. At GCSE and A-Level I received 100% in my compositions. Since discovering my passion for composition, I have written a series of orchestral suites, smaller chamber pieces, and a choral song cycle which was debuted by a Cambridge Choir on tour in Iceland.

I have endeavoured to pursue opportunities that make me a well-rounded and well-developed person and musician. I have a great understanding of liturgical music from my posts in choirs throughout my life; an extensive knowledge of Western music history; training in composition and film composition; good research skills; completed modules in beginners, applied and advanced tonal skills; studied the role of colonialism in modern Western understanding of music; received tuition on the role of popular music and technology in social change and written two dissertations on the role of music in film and culture.

As a current student at the University of Cambridge, I understand what it takes to make a successful medicine application.

At present, I offer tutoring in the medical admissions process including general advice, UCAT, BMAT, and personal statement work. I also offer the sciences and maths at GCSE level as well as biology at A-level for students who would like help in these areas.

Every student is unique and I aim to cater my sessions to the individual- if you’ve any particular concerns or areas that you struggle with, we can dedicate more time to these with the aim of overcoming them. Sometimes this can mean spending multiple lessons on one subject, whilst at other times it means refreshing your memory on the basics and working from there. Anything is possible in terms of how we can make your lessons a valuable (and enjoyable!) experience.

I am a passionate, warm and versatile music and woodwind teacher from Coleraine, Northern Ireland, now based in London. After graduating from The University of Birmingham with a BMus Honours degree in Music, I went on to teach for the music department at Hendon School, supporting the delivery of GCSE and A Level Music classes and providing 1-to-1 support for students with additional educational needs. I have been teaching flute, piano and music theory individually and in small group classes for around 5 years. Recently, this included teaching for Kings Norton Girls’ School and Education Authority Orchestral Residential Course alongside her private practice. As a woodwind player, my professional career has seen me play professionally across musical theatre and orchestral fields. I offer 1-to-1 lessons in Flute, Piano, Music Theory as well as tutoring toward GCSE and A Level Music examinations.

Hi, I’m James! I recently graduated from Cambridge University with 1st Class Honours in Music, where my degree covered topics including music history, analysis, composition and performance. While at Cambridge, I also completed the DELE C1 accreditation (‘effective operational fluency’) in Spanish. I offer engaging lessons in both Music and Spanish at all levels (including GCSE and A-Level, and equivalents), at a pace matched to the student.

MUSIC: The skills I have learned in my degree are the same skills required for success in GCSE and A-Level Music (analysing musical works; explaining broad historical trends in music; aural skills), and in Music Theory grades. I sat these exams not so long ago myself, and would love to help you or your child excel in them!

SPANISH: I’ve become fluent in Spanish through examinations and practice – I know what is needed for success in these exams, and I know what it’s like learning a language ‘by the book’! Each lesson therefore strikes a balance of new content, and engaging, interactive exercises. I fully explain all the concepts I teach – despite what some people think, teaching by osmosis doesn’t work!

Outside of my degree, I lead an active musical life, from choirs to rock bands, as well as writing music – including a winning entry in the 3rd International Competition of Composers.
