About Me

Hi! I am a first year medical student at UCL and I am keen to help other aspiring medics with the application process. Having recently been involved in the application process, my understanding of what medical schools are interested in is current, which is important for interview preparation. Additionally, having recently taken the BMAT and UCAT, I know all the techniques and strategies to achieve a high score which got me interviews at Cambridge, UCL, Bristol and Birmingham. I also achieved a 43 in the IB this year, taking HL Maths AA, Biology, and Chemistry and am happy to tutor in all of those subjects. With experience tutoring students in Maths and Sciences for the past two years, I have gained a good insight into adapting my teaching techniques and explanations for different students, ensuring each student understands topics and ideas clearly and effectively.

My teaching style

For practicing and teaching interview techniques, I go through different types of interview questions that typically come up in MMI or panel interviews and go through helpful structures students can use to organise and enhance their response, ensuring it contains the key elements medical schools like to hear. Additionally, I will hold mock interviews and go through different MMI stations to ensure students feel familiar to the medical interview process. For teaching Maths, Biology and Chemistry, I go through and over content the students are struggling with, using different explanations to ensure students have a clear understanding of topics, and then reinforce the knowledge through practice questions and exam technique.

My past experience

I have tutored students online for two years in Maths and the Sciences at a GCSE level and KS3 level. I also volunteered as a primary school assistant, where I also taught them Maths.

My Proudest Achievements

I would say my proudest achievement was helping a student who was really struggling in Maths GCSE after failing her mocks, achieve a grade 9 in her final results!
