I found it really good, I thought it was a really insightful experience. We got to know about different specialisations within psychology like clinical, occupational and we’re doing counselling and psychotherapy as well. My favourite part of the psychology work experience was the clinical psychology day because we did a role play of a patient and we pretended to be a clinical psychologist. We read the criteria on the file which was really interesting. I was already set on studying psychology but it’s made me sure it’s what I want to do. Especially meeting all the people in the different fields and how much I relate to them and I can see myself doing it in the future.

The psychology work experience was really helpful when it comes to me choosing which sector of psychology I want to go into – it was really informative. I really liked the clinical psychology workshop. I’m more excited to learn more about psychology at university.

It was really insightful and I learnt a lot about the different fields of psychology and I really enjoyed it. My favourite part was the first day where we covered the brain and life coaching which wasn’t something I knew much about but I gained a different perspective on psychology. I also like the occupational psychology workshop because that’s a career that I’m considering. It made me want to take psychology more, this week was a confirmation and opportunity to learn more about psychology.

I found it really insightful and thoroughly enjoyed it. There never used to be in-person psychology work experience so it was really good to find this now. I got a lot more out of it compared to a virtual experience. Any of the other students would say how helpful this was. Because of patient confidentiality there’s not much out there so it was really nice to talk to professionals and do examples. My favourite part was clinical psychology – I’m hoping to pursue that later so I was having the best time! I was quite shocked by the neuroplasticity workshop, I found that inspiring. I think David the brain coach really resonated with me. It was very motivating.

I’ve really enjoyed the psychology work experience and it’s been fun. It was easy making friends and was really interactive especially on the first day with David, that was really fun. The teachers have been great and they’ve got a lot of knowledge. The occupational psychologist was really knowledgeable and talked about her experience. I loved the workshops, they were really interactive. I really enjoyed making our own study and going through the steps of how to do it. In university we’re going to be doing that so it was a headstart to those skills. I’m really motivated to study psychology now. It’s been really helpful to know what I need to do to get into different areas.
