Hi! My name is Ananya and I am a second year medical student at the University of Birmingham.
I applied to the University of Birmingham, Newcastle, Leicester, and KCL. I would love to share my experiences with the different interview styles, including MMIs and panel, UCAT preparation, and tips for writing good personal statements.
I am also an international student from India, and being an international applicant can be very daunting! I would further love to assist with information on choosing the right university, chances of getting in, navigating the UCAS application process coming from abroad, and more!
I want to share my knowledge from my experiences with the UCAT preparation and interviews, through MedicMind.
Outside of medicine, my hobbies include dancing, reading, and playing tennis!
I am super passionate about teaching and I’m here to support you 🙂
Hello, my name is Chidera and I am a second year psychology student. Music has always been my biggest passion besides psychology and I come from a musical background. I started my musical journey aged 7 when I started learning classical guitar. When I was 10 I started taking clarinet lessons in a class-wide program, but was the only student to continue for the rest of primary school. I also had piano lessons for 4 years. I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of musical ensembles since primary school, and I am currently part of my university’s orchestra and concert band, as well as my home city’s youth orchestra. During my first year I auditioned for and was subsequently awarded a scholarship for my music lessons. I am very interested in teaching as I believe through my years being a student myself I have the experience of many methods of teaching, and I would love the opportunity to enrich someone else’s life as music has done mine.
I’m Prerna, a final-year medical student at the University of Nottingham. Having secured acceptances into Birmingham, Manchester, and UCLAN, I bring extensive interview experience, specializing in MMI and Panel formats. I have had the privilege of assisting numerous aspiring medical students in their interview preparation and have helped students gain admission to universities including Warwick, UCL, Manchester, KCL, and Leicester. I’ve gained valuable insights into the interview process through my experience working for the Medical Interview department at the University of Nottingham. This exposure has provided me with a better understanding of how interviews are conducted.
I look forward to the opportunity to impart knowledge, inspire confidence, and foster success in your learning environment.

Hi there, my name is Rory and i am on my way into Third year at the University of Manchester (you may have read this several times on my account already!) and I am just starting to tutor through medic mind. I like to think i am a very easy going and relaxed medic. In my spare time i love to read and make music. At university, i take part in many extra curricular activities such as playing guitar in a band, playing tennis and surfing with the society on top of this. It is this that i believe demonstrates my ability to both excel academically while maintaining a vibrant social life, an attribute i would like to think enables a healthy and comfortable tutor- tutee dynamic, something i will strive for. Previously, I have tutored younger children for the 11+ entrance examination as well as taught them guitar. While medic mind is obviously a step up, I believe the fundamentals of tailoring a bespoke and engaging tutoring session is of utmost importance, ( I should hope medic mind will involve less tantrums and sweeties!). I vehemently believe that to teach someone is the best way of learning and growing, and as someone who will always strive for this, i would love the opportunity to tutor anyone who is interested. Im sure you will help me as much as i will help you.
Hello! My name is Shyam and I am going into my fourth year of medicine at King’s College London, and I am looking to help students who are applying to medical school. I have had interviews at four universities and achieved a top 10% score in the UCAT, so I can teach you the skills I learnt along the way. Having struggled with motivation during the application process, I do understand how overwhelming things can be. Balancing both studies and UCAT/interview prep is no easy task, so I hope to be of valuable support and create a structured learning plan to make your pathway not just easier, but also more enjoyable.
I have taken part in mentoring programmes and worked with family friends to help them to get into medical school, and I strongly believe that I can help you succeed in achieving the same thing. You are in the driving seat, so we can work together to find the best way for you to learn.
Hello, My name is Rakesh and I am a tutor for StudyMind/MedicMind. I studied at St. Olave’s Grammar School and I am a first-year student at Imperial College London. At school, I took on many responsibilities revolving around tutoring and mentoring younger students. We have thoroughly enjoyed these sessions and the students I have worked with found themselves to be more confident and prepared for tests and exams. My students have been able to go on and receive top grades in their GCSEs. I also spent time tutoring students doing year 1 A-level content. A levels are a completely different beast to tackle compared to GCSEs and my students and I work to ensure we are able to approach A-level questions with advanced methods. These students have gone on to find success in their AS exams and have achieved strong predicted grades. All-in-all, I have been tutoring for 3 years now and have gained experience with primary and secondary school students.

Hi! I’ve just graduated from the University of Oxford with a first class degree in Biology (integrated masters). My masters project was on antibiotic resistance, but I’ve studied and taught all types of biology, ranging from plant biology, evolutionary biology to cell biology.
While I thoroughly enjoyed my degree, I found it academically challenging. However, it taught me valuable lessons in working efficiently and managing my time effectively, enabling me to strike a better balance between work and taking breaks.
In my free time, I love to play both play football (big Arsenal fan heads up!), netball, guitar, and piano. I also love to read, with my favourite genre being historical fiction. I am also very sociable and find that I particularly enjoy spending time with others. I enjoy creating a fun and encouraging learning environment, which I find benefits both myself and students, helping us make the most out of each lesson.
