About Me

I’m Prerna, a recently graduated doctor from the University of Nottingham. Having secured acceptances into Birmingham, Manchester, and UCLAN, I bring extensive interview experience, specializing in MMI and Panel formats. I have had the privilege of assisting numerous aspiring medical students in their interview preparation and have helped students gain admission to universities including Warwick, UCL, Manchester, KCL, and Leicester. I’ve gained valuable insights into the interview process through my experience working for the Medical Interview department at the University of Nottingham. This exposure has provided me with a better understanding of how interviews are conducted.

I look forward to the opportunity to impart knowledge, inspire confidence, and foster success in your learning environment.

My teaching style

My teaching style is variable and dependent on the student. It is highly objective-driven, i.e. focus of each task is directly aimed to benefit the student to reach their goals. Student well-being is my utmost priority and feedback is regularly asked for to ensure the student receives the best teaching.

My past experience

I have taught many students GCSE and A-Level Maths and Biology (CIE, Edexcel, and OCR) for the past 7 years. In addition, I have been part of several medical societies, trained prospective medical students in Mock MMIs, and taught medical students in the ENT Society, Clinical Skills Society, and Islamic Medics Society. I am also part of the Phoenix Project, which is a charity that teaches OET and PLAB to refugee doctors so that they can practice medicine in the UK, and have been teaching OET for the past 3 years.

My Proudest Achievements

My proudest achievement was setting up a teaching timetable as the vice president of the Nottingham Phoenix Project. I was able to increase efficiency and thus triple the number of sessions being held. To this date, we still use the same system to conduct teaching sessions and have helped more than 15 students pass OET exams.
