Hi, I’m Fran! I am a postgraduate student at UCL, studying for MSc Science Technology and Society, which I hope to finish in 2024. In 2022, I graduated with a BA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, where I specialised in Materials Science in my final year. I’m super passionate about science, and love science communication and policy-making. In my spare time, I enjoy rock-climbing, reading, board games, and music.
I have been tutoring privately for around 4 years now, and I love it! I enjoy spreading my passion for science and love discussing new and interesting topics and issues in science with my students. I think it’s really important to engage children and young people with science, to encourage the next generation of medics, mathematicians, scientists, and engineers.

Hi! My name is Alex, and I’m currently a third year student at the University of Edinburgh studying Geology and Physical Geography. In school, I chose to do the IB curriculum, with geography, biology and chemistry at higher level, and English language and literature, Maths analysis and approaches and Norwegian literature at standard level. My hobbies include wintersports (downhill skiing, cross country skiing, snowboarding), art, taking care of my pets, hiking, and horseriding.

I have a deep understanding and passion for topics related to geology (specifically dinosaurs!), zoology, as well as climate change and resources. My goal for you as a tutor is to show you a deeper appreciation for a certain subject, while also making sure you understand its content and don’t have any confusion or difficulty with it.

My background:
I graduated from The University of Edinburgh in July 2023 with a BMedSci (Hons) in Global Health and Policy. Having covered a mixture of Population Health, Pharmaceutical Studies, Japanese Philosophy, Neuropolitics, French, Anthropology, Chemistry and Biology during my time. I am currently a 4th year MBChB Medical Student at The University of Manchester whilst recently completing the Cambridge Summer Neuroscience course at Villier’s Parks

I developed my interest in education during my time at university through immersing myself in a wealth of educational projects. For example, as an Insight2Uni Mentor for students from underrepresented ethnic groups, a Diversity and Inclusion Ambassador and as an admissions and mock exams specialist. I have taught science, mathematics and English as a foreign language currently completing the TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language Abroad) course

I am now excelling as a part-time private tutor and am passionate about helping children secure a solid education, to lay the foundations for a successful career later in life. My Edinburgh education has opened a wealth of opportunities and I too want to help student receive the best education so they can go on to achieve anything they wish.

In my spare time I enjoy hiking – I have hiked 12 miles a day through a mountain range in Croatia; battled 30-degree heat whilst carrying a 23kg rucksack, Amplified orienteering and resilience skills; developed strong teamwork and communication abilities.

Hello, My name is Betsy Gibson and I am a current Second year undergraduate at the University of Bristol. Studying Geography, I have a passion for the physical topics, especially Glaciation and earth systems. On top of this I also have also have a keen interest for areas of human geography such as migration. I also studied Art and Sociology A level and developed a passion for both subjects, still doing research on both now. Hi, My name is Mona. I am fluent in French and English, I have an MA from the University of St. Andrews in International Relations and an MSc in Infectious Diseases and Medicine from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. I have been a professional tutor for 6 years. During this time, I have tutored pupils ranging in age from 5 to 30 years old, and have had particular success with helping them with a wide range of exams, including university applications (eg.University of St. Andrews, Cambridge, LSE and King’s College).
