Writing your own revision notes is a good example of active learning as you are engaging in the subject matter, rather than passively reading a textbook. However, you don't have to start from scratch. You can use our notes as a base and add to them or you can make flashcards as an extra summary and use them to revise when you need a recap.

Core topics include atomic structure, chemical bonding, chemical reactions, acids and bases, and the periodic table. Understanding these fundamentals is crucial for success.

Create flashcards for common equations and formulae. Practice balancing chemical equations and solving numerical problems to reinforce your understanding.

There are many resources out there for iGCSE Chemsitry prep. However, it's important to remember not to overcomplicate your revision by buying lots of resources and using too many websites. Think about how you learn best (e.g. flashcards, writing notes, reading or watching/listening) and find resources that match that. The most important thing is that you are comfortable with the resources you use.

For multiple-choice questions, eliminate obviously incorrect options and choose the best answer. For structured and extended response questions, organize your thoughts, provide clear explanations, and use appropriate terminology to maximise your marks. Practising these types of questions and looking at how the mark scheme works will help you to include the most important information.
