It’s been really good. I really enjoyed the Engineering festival event at UCL where I got to learn about the different disciplines. The tutor was really informative. We’ve learnt about loads of different first semester chemical engineering principles like mass balances and energy balances and thermodynamics. It’s definitely given me insight into what chemical engineering really is. It’s given me insight into how to choose a subject at university.

It was definitely more advanced than I was expecting. It was closer to second year university. The structure was quite dynamic and we focused on what I was interested in which was good. We did an introductory level on the surrounding elements. The tutor is doing the course that I want to do and it was really encouraging.

The chemical engineering summer school has been very good. We went to UCL and had an insight into what engineering actually is. The tutor explained everything thoroughly so I got a deep understanding of what chemical engineering is. Because I don’t do physics, I was worried that I needed physics to study chemical engineering but it made me realise that you don’t necessarily need it. I think that if you’re going to do chemical engineering you have to be determined to do it as it can be quite hard, but it was fun as well.
