Properties of Radiations
In the last tutorial we looked at three types of radiation – alpha radiation, beta radiation and gamma radiation.
These types of radiation have varying penetrating powers, ionising powers and distances they can travel in air.
Alpha radiation has the lowest penetrating power but highest ionising power. Gamma radiation has the highest penetrating power but lowest ionising power. This can be presented in a table:
