Extinction
- Extinction occurs when there are no remaining individuals of a species still alive. Extinction occurs when all of the members of a species die. This occurs with he dinosaurs, after the catastrophic event of the asteroid. It occurs when individuals are no longer adapted to the surroundings.
- Many factors lead to extinction. This happens when there are new predators, diseases or more successful, better adapted competitors, thus removing their food source. A catastrophic event, along with changes to the environment over time can lead to extinction.
- Extinction has happened to many organisms. The woolly mammoth, dodo, passenger pigeon and quagga are just a few examples of organisms that have become extinct.
