Biomedical Engineering Tutors

Hi, my name is Katie and I am a medical student at the University of Liverpool. I am currently intercalating between years 3 and 4 doing an MRes in Clinical Sciences. I have particular interests in Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics, and the research I am doing during my MRes is focusing on the importance of exercise in the elderly and post operative exercise.

A bit about me – In my free time I love to be active! I dance, play hockey, go to the gym, go for hikes (when I am near mountains) and am currently training for a half marathon. I have been President of The Medical Students’ Performing Arts Society, and am currently trying to reinstate the Sport and Exercise Medicine Society here at the University. I also love to cook and bake, especially lemon drizzle!

Current school students – At A Level, I acheived Grade A in Maths, Chemistry and Biology and a Distinction* in Level 3 Performing Arts. At GSCE I achieved 9s in Maths, Biology, Chemistry, History and English Language, 8s in Physics, Drama, English Literature and Spanish, and Distinction*s in (Level 2) Sport and Creative Digital Media.
I am confident in tutoring at GCSE Level and below in Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Sport/PE and medical related subjects (Biomedicine, biochemistry etc). If your subject is not listed here but you are interested in my tutoring, please just drop me a message and we can work something out 🙂

Medicine Applicants – For the future medical students here, I would love to help you get into this fantastic degree. After not doing too well in my UCAT and being rejected by 2 universities as a result, I really struggled with my confidence. However, both Universities I attended for interview gave me offers! I am available for interview preparation and advice on your application to Medicine (both interviews I attended were MMIs, however, I can help to prepare for other styles too).

Current Medical Students – For current medical/ medical sciences students, I am currently between Years 3 and 4 of my MBChB having passed my Sequence 1 of all 3 years for both the written and clinical examinations (The University of Liverpool have a sequence system for exams. If you do well enough in the 1st Sequence, you are exempt from having to sit a 2nd set of examinations). I am available for tutoring in all Medical Subjects I have currently covered. Hi! I’m Ben and I’m a finalist studying Biochemistry in my 4th year of study at the University of Oxford. I’ve excelled at every level of education, receiving 10 9s at GCSE, 4 A*s at A level and a predicted 1st in my finals. Hi, My name is Bhavisha and I am a current Masters student studying Data Science and AI. I graduated last year from Queen Mary, University of London in Biomedical Sciences. Before deciding to do Biomedical Sciences, I had initially applied to medical schools in the hopes of becoming a doctor, in doing so I was able to get an interview and offer from Barts and The London Medical School.
My love for maths and the sciences, especially Biology has grown whilst at university completing Biomed and Data Sci, both of which have had modules that were biology and maths heavy.
Outside of education, I enjoying watching and partaking in sports, some of my favourites to do are netball and cycling, and some of my favourites to watch are motorsports and tennis. I am very detail orientated and well organised, some skills which have greatly benefitted me to achieving high grades throughout my education especially in university.

I’m Alex Rodway. I graduated from Jesus College, Oxford University in June 2023 with an integrated undergraduate and master’s degree in biology.

I achieved 4 A*s at A-level and 12 A*s at GCSE.

I have a lot of experience tutoring at GCSE and A-level standard in science, maths and language subjects. I am bilingual in English and French. I have also tutored students for Oxbridge interviews, with two students successfully achieving places at Oxford and Cambridge for biology and natural sciences, respectively.

At University, I founded and acted as the president of a podcast society called OxPods (https://linktr.ee/oxpods). This involved students interviewing professors on niche aspects of their chosen subject in an accessible way to the wider public. One of the main purposes of this was in access – it gives prospective Oxbridge applicants a taste of what education at the University is actually like, and aims to help them prepare for entrance exams and interviews. It also aimed to provide a platform to allow students that may not otherwise have access to such high-level research, the opportunity to consume information in an easily digestible way.

This helped develop my skills in communication, simplifying information, organisation, and understanding the thought processes of Oxford professors, which is of vital importance for entrance interviews.

Hi! I’ve just graduated from the University of Oxford with a first class degree in Biology (integrated masters). My masters project was on antibiotic resistance, but I’ve studied and taught all types of biology, ranging from plant biology, evolutionary biology to cell biology.

While I thoroughly enjoyed my degree, I found it academically challenging. However, it taught me valuable lessons in working efficiently and managing my time effectively, enabling me to strike a better balance between work and taking breaks.

In my free time, I love to play both play football (big Arsenal fan heads up!), netball, guitar, and piano. I also love to read, with my favourite genre being historical fiction. I am also very sociable and find that I particularly enjoy spending time with others. I enjoy creating a fun and encouraging learning environment, which I find benefits both myself and students, helping us make the most out of each lesson.

I am currently a medical student at the University of Buckingham, and I am completing my clinical placement at Milton Keynes University Hospital. I have a BSc degree in Biological Sciences and I have four years of experience in the tutoring field. I also have experience in preparation for MMI interviews.
