Aarush
About Me
Hi! My name is Aarush and I am a second-year medical student at Imperial College London. Being an international student, I understand the rigor and daunting nature of applying to the UK for medicine. With the right mindset and support, I believe we can achieve incredible things beyond our expectations. I also studied the International Baccalaureate in high school, and I am experienced in how to prepare for the IB examinations which I sat in May 2023. Medicine interviews are daunting at the moment, but in my own experience, they were some of the most enriching conversations I have had and I consider them all fondly. I also understand the difference between preparing for an MMI and a Panel interview, having done both formats. The unique nature of both styles means that I can provide support in maximizing your approach to both formats to have the best outcome.
My teaching style
My teaching style is very hands-on with a back and forth between myself and the student. Rather than a lecture-driven approach I prefer breaking down questions to help the student best understand what it asks for and arrive at the core of the question as quickly and succinctly as possible.
My past experience
I have experience tutoring students from grade 8-12 in English as part of a tutor support group with an NGO, that I participated in for two years. Prior to that, I also volunteered at a local NGO in Hong Kong to help primary school children with their homework.
My Proudest Achievements
First, receiving my PADI scuba dive certificate, which helped me overcome my fear of diving is a proud achievement of mine. Furthermore, being involved in my school public speaking, debate, and model united nations teams where I was able to introduce them to more people and grow the club exponentially larger by the time I graduated is an achievement I hold very close.
