About Me
Hello I’m Stella and I have just completed my first year at Liverpool medical school. I’m originally from Essex and went to The Leys School in Cambridge where I was Head Girl. I graduated school in 2023 with 3 As in Biology, Chemistry and English Lit A-Level; 9 9s at GCSE (including all 3 Sciences, Maths, English Lit & Lang, History, Geography and Drama) and 2 7s (Further Maths and French). I went straight to University having got in the first time round with a UCAT score of 2670 and SJT Band 1. I am a people person and would love to help aspiring medics / science students in any way I can. I am hard working and will create lesson plans tailored to individual students that will help them get the top grades they need. I remember clearly what it feels like to not grasp concepts in lessons and feeling like revision is just a momentous task but I also got through my exams with pretty good results and it would make me so happy to help others do the same.
My teaching style
I will deliver interesting sessions that are engaging, interactive and 100% tailored to the student and their needs. I will use past papers and syllabuses to ensure that the student is covering everything they need to cover all the marks. I am also confident in my ability to explain concepts in an easy-to-understand way as my school experience was so recent that I know exactly how it feels to be lost at GCSE and A-Level.
My past experience
I have tutored year 9s and 10s in their GCSEs informally, as well as my brother (who has ADHD) during his GCSEs and now A levels. I ran and co-ran revision sessions at school and university to help both my peers and myself learn content as I have found teaching is often the best form of revision.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievement is probably getting into Liverpool after the gruelling experience of applying for Medicine. It is tough but I know so many people can do it with the right help. I was lucky enough to have that help and I would love to pass it on. I have also just passed my end of year exams at university and have found out that I am above average in my year of 350 students, which is very rewarding to hear after working hard.
