14About Me
Hi my name is Ali and I am currently a medical student at the University of Southampton. Going through this application process twice has taught me there’s no such thing as being behind in life, only where you are and the path you are creating. To be behind means to be behind someone walking the same path as you, no one is walking the same path as you. By using every trick in the book I have learnt from all of the medical students, lecturers, doctors and more I’ve met across the country, we will achieve your goal!
From being a tutor throughout my life and helping students from 8-18 years of age, I’ve come to learn that every person is on a unique journey to achieve the goals they desire and so I really try to incorporate that in my teaching. I am a big fan of playing rugby, going to the gym and reading manga!
My teaching style
No two individuals are the same and this is also the case when learning, everyone navigates their own path to success . As a result, my teaching style will heavily involve learning more about the student as a person and trying to understand their goals and achievements so we are on the same footing which will allow us to go on this daunting journey of medical school applications together and get you into medical school.
My past experience
I’ve been fortunate enough to interact and teach with students in out of my school through doing reading practice with primary school children, teaching GCSES as part of being an ambassador at my school and then being Head Boy within my college in which I held multiple conferences and assemblies concerning education and specifically applying for medical school in the sixth form which also included helping students one to one in the UCAT and interview phase.
My Proudest Achievements
Working as a Healthcare Assistant in the Emergency Department and being able to take part in saving lives on a regular basis. The rewarding feeling afterwards is second to none!
