About Me
Hello I’m Jake, a first year reading Maths and Computer Science at St. John’s College in the University of Oxford.
Having gone through the Oxford application process myself, I understand the interview process and what tutors are looking for in a candidate. Consequently, I have substantial experience in applying to mathematical courses effectively.
My time spent preparing for the MAT means that I know what is important for the test and can help you prepare for it.
I am well-versed in various concepts related to the Computer Science curriculum, as evidenced by my invitation to the second round of the British Informatics Olympiad, as such I am well placed to support learning the Computer Science curriculum.
Having been student head of the Mathematics department at my school and having given several mathematics talks there, I am capable of conveying a wide range of mathematical concepts.
My teaching style
Initially, it’s important to to determine what knowledge or understanding is lacking.
Once this is determined, I can give relevant personalised lessons to build understanding of the concepts. Then providing comprehensive questions to test understanding and practice application of the concepts.
