Hello! I’m Halima, currently about to enter my final year studying Chemistry at Oxford. I have been tutoring for over 3 years now, with roles across all ages and backgrounds. I specialise in teaching A-Level Chemistry and Physics in particular, and my tutees have found my student-led teaching method useful. Additionally, I have helped mentor several students into receiving Oxbridge offers, helping them with personal statements to interview preparation. Haven worked as a University Admissions Advisor at Tanglin Trust School, Singapore I have been exposed to not just the University Admissions system in the UK, but across the globe. I am able to help my tutees not just in their specific subjects, but also make sure they feel supported throughout their educational journey. In my spare time, I love to read both fiction and non-fiction, learn German and go for hikes around London. Please let me know if you have any questions!
I am a recent biology graduate from the University of Oxford and have been teaching for the last 5 years. Having studied and lived in a number of countries, including the UK, New Zealand, and Finland, I approach life and learning with an open mind. I studied GCSEs and A-levels (Spanish, Chemistry, Biology, and EPQ) at a grammar school in the UK, as well as NCEA level 3 at a school in New Zealand.
I love nature, the outdoors, languages, and problem-solving – which works well for me as a Biologist exploring tropical ecology with conservation and sustainability. In October I begin my Masters by research at Oxford, which will involve the interdisciplinary integration of Biology, Mathematics, Economics, and Politics in investigating illegal wildlife trade. From explorations of DNA in laboratories of Oxford, to coral reef restoration projects in South East Asia, my scientific approach has taken me all over the world. Outside of Biology, I also have a passion for sports, literature, and languages. I speak Finnish and Spanish, and you will often find me doing adventure sports such as rock climbing and kayaking.
As a current undergraduate at the University of Oxford, it has only been a few months since I finished my school exams. Therefore, a lot of the content is still fresh in my memory and I am able to assist students to perform to the best of their abilities. At GCSE’s I achieved 9 9s and an 8 and at A-Levels I received A*A*A*A*. I managed to secure a place at Oxford and I am learning Computer Science. As a tutor, I will share many tips on how to secure the maximum amount of marks for certain questions and achieve the highest grades. For certain exams such as A-Levels, students may know the content correctly but will not score marks due to their answers not matching the mark scheme. Therefore, I will continuously refer back to exam style questions and teach them the correct terminology, allowing them to secure fantastic grades.
Hi! My name is Ruhab and I’m a third year student studying Dental Surgery in Leeds. Dental school application & interviews can be a daunting process, especially if you don’t know where to start. Having applied to dental school both as a graduate & undergrad, and having given interviews at three different dental schools, I am familiar with the variety of common interview questions asked and potential mistakes that applicants can make. Previously, I have tutored students online and have also helped dental and medical applicants refine and enhance their personal statements. I can help you familiarise with all things related to dentistry- whether you want to know more about the GDC guidelines or want help brushing up some common dental knowledge or even quick mock interviews, I’ll be happy to guide you on your journey to dental school!
