About Me
Hi my name is Tharshan and I’m a first class graduate in Master of Chemistry at Pembroke College, University of Oxford. I am a first generation student and live in South London in Croydon. My family is from Sri Lanka and I was born and raised in Croydon. I have some experience in tutoring at Explore Learning in Addiscombe. I tutored there for over a year part time during my A levels, in which I got 4 A*s. I also tutored a student and helped her get an interview at Cambridge. I speak Tamil and a little Japanese and German which I did for GCSE (both of which in I achieved an A*). In my free time I play ice hockey, do Bollywood and Bhangra dancing and watch anime. I have done performances at university and am the treasurer or the Oxford South Asian Arts Society and am on the Oxford Alternative Ice Hockey committee. I want to tutor students and help them reach their full potential.
My teaching style
My teaching style is mostly lead by what the student or parent want. They can ask me any question they want and I will answer it. I can also cover specific topics with them as well as go through past paper questions. My aim is to cover topics that the student is unfamiliar in to improve their understanding and confidence.
