Hello. My name is Alice Waithaka. I am thrilled to introduce myself to you as your potential tutor. I have a bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science from Maseno University. Although I am a trained medic, teaching comes naturally to me. I am passionate and enjoy teaching. I have tutored most of my life even to my fellow student and even those junior to me. I believe that every person has the potential and is capable of achieving their academic goals. My role as a tutor is to help and guide my students towards realising the potential within them and to show them how exactly to apply it toward realising their goals.
My area of specialisation is science, specifically biology, chemistry, biochemistry, forensic science, and biomedical. I look forward to helping you realise your goals in the above subjects and beyond.

I am a passionate and experienced Science educator with over 17 years of teaching and tutoring expertise across secondary and advanced levels. Holding an M.Sc. in Biotechnology and a B.Ed, I specialize in Cambridge International (Lower Secondary, IGCSE, and A-Level) and IB curricula, with a proven track record of helping students achieve academic success and build confidence in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics. I am an examiner for GCSE Biology, IB Biology & Extended Essay. My teaching style is student-centered, adaptable, and focused on simplifying complex concepts through real-world examples, interactive learning, and critical thinking. Over the years, I have supported learners of diverse backgrounds, guiding them not only to excel in exams but also to develop curiosity and independent study skills. I am committed to providing personalized learning experiences, bridging gaps in understanding, and inspiring students to reach their fullest potential in science and beyond.

This doctoral research focused on developing novel antiviral nanomedicine strategies targeting influenza virus infections. The project centred on the conjugation of a potent antiviral peptide (FluPep) to gold and silver nanoparticles to enhance its therapeutic efficacy. Key objectives included optimising nanoparticle synthesis and functionalisation, characterising conjugates using advanced biochemical and spectroscopic techniques, and evaluating antiviral activity in vitro using MDCK cell cultures.

The study demonstrated that nanoparticle–peptide conjugates significantly improved antiviral potency compared to the free peptide, likely due to increased stability and multivalent interactions. Mechanistic insights were gained through viral replication assays, cytotoxicity testing, and reverse genetics approaches. The work contributed to a deeper understanding of peptide-based nanotherapies and their potential in combating influenza and other viral infections.

Hi I am Dr Muhammad Tayyab, a passionate educator, with vast experience of teaching GCE A levels, IB and GCSE O level. My specialties are in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Environmental Sciences and Mathematics. I have also helped students with medical school entrance exams such as IMAT, BMAT and UCAT, and Medical School Interviews. I help students at achieving excellent grades by opting student specific tailored teaching approach.
I graduated with an honor in Masters in Medicine and Surgery degree from University of Pavia in Italy. Prior to that I had achieved 4A*s in my A levels Pre-Medicine program and 8A*s in O levels, earning recognition as the top student in both school and high school. This foundation has given me the ability to excel as an educator in these relevant education boards.
Over the years, I have been teaching every student with a unique method, catering to their individual learning style and requirements. Be it improving grades, deepening one’s understanding of a subject, or getting prepared for university entrance exams, I develop strategies for sure success.
I have achieved various certificates of recognition for excelling in providing quality education.
I am familiar with using digital tools like Zoom, Google Drive, and Microsoft Office in ways that make online learning engaging and effective. Such skills ensure effective and structured communication, even in virtual environments.

My name is Lowri and I’m a medical student at Imperial College London! Medicine is my greatest passion, and I love being able to help other people enter the field! I am particularly interested in pathology, but have covered modules including lifestyle medicine, molecular biology, immunology, genetics, haematology, bioregulatory systems, clinical skills, and anatomy.
At A-Levels, I achieved 4A*s in Maths, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. I also achieved 11A*s at GCSE, in Maths, Numeracy, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Religious Studies, History, English Language, English Literature, and Welsh Language. I also received an A in Welsh Baccalaureate, B in Art, and C in Welsh Literature.
Outside of academia, I am passionate about fundraising, netball, and fighting for equality. I currently hold a committee position in Imperial’s Medics Raising and Giving Society, which raises approximately £30,000 annually, as well as chairing the Imperial College LGBTQ+ Society. I also work with Right to Play, feminist movements, and United Hospitals.

I combine an extensive academic background with real in-school teaching experience. For over 15 years, I have supported so many school, University and postgraduate students succeed in their goals and secure their top choice of University. In my pedagogy training, I specialised in utilising my PhD level knowledge of Biology to develop teaching methods that can really make a difference to students of all abilities. I also specialise in developing revision resources, both for my own teaching and for SnapRevise – I have authored all their latest science revision courses and flashcards. I have supported GCSE students with difficulties in attention and exam technique by tailoring my lessons to their exact needs, as well as very high achieving students who need an additional challenge and have competitive goals like medicine and dentistry. My extensive training in competitive institutions is what has fortified my abilities and experience as a tutor. I have completed: – BSc in Human Genetics in University College London – MSc in Molecular Medicine in Imperial College London – PhD in Stem Cell Biology and Embryology in King’s College London – Further research in Oxford University. – Qualified Teacher Status for PhD holders: Curriculum Designer and Researcher in Educational Methods My pedagogy training, Qualified Teacher Status and teaching experience were achieved in a cutting edge and prestigious programme, run by The Brilliant Club, where academics are placed in secondary education, with the goal of improving the quality of science teaching and inspiring students to pursue competitive university studies. This programme was specifically tailored to translate my vast academic experience into school teaching. I was able to gain valuable insight into the challenges and limitations of the educational system and develop ways to support students of all levels, ranging from students with special educational needs to challenging students that become easily bored with standard school activities. I have now turned to being a full time tutor, as it is something I enjoy so much! It is hugely gratifying to be able to see a student fulfil their full potential and achieve their dreams! This also means that I have the time to dedicate to ensure that each one of my students gets excellent and consistent resources, feedback and individualised support, in a way that is simply not possible for tutors doing this as a side job. My long term experience in the academic field, seeing the student selection process first hand, equipped me with the ability to guide students on their study goals, as well as how to prepare their university applications for competitive universities.
