Lowri
About Me
Hi!
My name is Lowri and I’m a medical student at Imperial College London! Medicine is my greatest passion, and I love being able to help other people enter the field! I am particularly interested in pathology, but have covered modules including lifestyle medicine, molecular biology, immunology, genetics, haematology, bioregulatory systems, clinical skills, and anatomy.
At A-Levels, I achieved 4A*s in Maths, Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. I also achieved 11A*s at GCSE, in Maths, Numeracy, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Religious Studies, History, English Language, English Literature, and Welsh Language. I also received an A in Welsh Baccalaureate, B in Art, and C in Welsh Literature.
Outside of academia, I am passionate about fundraising, netball, and fighting for equality. I currently hold a committee position in Imperial’s Medics Raising and Giving Society, which raises approximately £30,000 annually, as well as chairing the Imperial College LGBTQ+ Society. I also work with Right to Play, feminist movements, and United Hospitals.
I look forward to working with you! Please feel free to ask me any questions you might have!
My teaching style
Inspired by the teaching I’ve received at Imperial, I aim to approach tutoring sessions holistically, getting to know the student and what they respond best to. I employ proven revision methods (many of which I use for my own exams) to support learning and encourage independent revision in order to allow students to thrive after our tutoring sessions are complete. My goal is to ensure satisfaction of students and parents, and to support long-term skill development for future success.
My past experience
I have worked with a variety of students covering a wide range of subjects, with maximum satisfaction. I mainly teach the sciences and maths, however am happy to work on any subject or topic needed.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements is my contributions to charity. I have held two independent fundraisers in my rural town in Wales, raiding over £3,000 in total for various charities. I have volunteered with many groups, most notably volunteering with Imperial College Paediatric Society’s Play Team at St. Mary’s Paediatric Ward.
