Cantonese Tutors : 1-1 Cantonese Lessons

Hello! I am Obelia, a 1st-year veterinary student at the Royal Veterinary College. I have always loved teaching, no matter if it’s to my friends or students I have tutored. I am looking to tutor primary school students, I/GCSE, and A-level students.

I am hard-working, organised, friendly and articulate. I have experience tutoring GCSE students in chemistry, biology and maths and I was involved in assisting years 7-13 with their homework and tests on all subjects.

I completed IGCSE on 11 subjects and obtained 8 9s in maths, biology, chemistry, economics, English as a second language, Spanish, Chinese (Cantonese), religious studies, and 3 8s in accounting, English as a first language and further mathematics. I went on and achieved A*AA in maths, biology and chemistry at A-level.
I am therefore also confident in tutoring A-level maths, chemistry and biology and am confident I would be able to improve student’s grades.

I also offer IELTS tutoring, in which I obtained an 8.5 overall score.

I am now studying veterinary medicine at the Royal Veterinary College, the #1 vet school in the world (QS ranking). Thus, I can also provide vet school interview preparation and practice, as well as general university preparation like MMI, panel interview practices and personal statement editing.

As a fourth-year medical student at Leeds with 3 A* at A-level, I offer a strong academic foundation and proven dedication. My medical training equips me with the skills to explain complex concepts clearly and patiently, helping students excel academically and understand the material deeply. My experience in a demanding field ensures I bring empathy, effective communication, and support to both students and their parents, fostering a productive and encouraging learning environment.

Getting into medical school is a mentally exhausting and gruelling process, students every year make many consequential yet very much avoidable mistakes which greatly hinder their application and prevent themselves from reaching the potential that they have, which is why it is so important to have someone that has been through it and done it to guide each student along the way and provide guidance and support. The application is very demanding and can be very emotionally draining as well as physically. Getting tutoring can help you feel less alone in the application process. With no assistance at all you might feel like you have nowhere to turn to for advice at times and diminish your overall confidence going into the process.

As an international student, I had to compete with highly-capable, like-minded individuals across the globe for a small fraction of spots in each cohort (roughly 10-15 per uni) in a much larger pool of applicants. I have achieved all 3 offers from the universities I was offered interviews in (with one of the unis giving me an offer much earlier on in the application cycle as they were impressed by my interview skills). In order to do so, it is fundamental that your application needs to stand out from the rest and I am here to help with every scenario you might encounter throughout the process. Hello! My name is Sophia and I am a 3rd year medical student currently studying at the University of Bristol. I achieved top grades in my GCSEs and A levels, as well as in my UCAT. Having gone through A levels and the medicine application process, I understand how stressful and hard it is and I would like to guide students to achieve the best grades they can to get into their dream university. I am passionate and patient in teaching students, and eager to improve students’ confidence in exams and university interviews. I will tailor classes to each student to ensure they can understand material in the best way they can.
