Hi, my name is Zakir.

I’m a 2nd year Medic at Cardiff University.
I have been tutoring for 3+ years in A-level maths. All my students have achieved their desired grades.

The reason I tutor is to truly help students achieve the best they can by providing my experience and guidance. I want students to be a complete package excelling in all areas of study. I will also help develop good study habits that will carry on throughout the students education. I do this because I believe one of the most under looked aspects of studying is the mentality/mindset. This is what stops many students from achieving the grades they want and working with me I will do my best to overcome this.

Also being a young tutor and having say the exams in 2023 I’d say this is my strongest trait. As a recent student I can truly emphasise with the exam stress and will help develop tactics to overcome this to ensure the student achieves the best grade possible.

I’ve been praised for my teaching style, often being compared by others to experienced teachers which I’m grateful for. I’m also continuously learning and would like to be pushed and am motivated by students who have a good mindset and attitude to learning and I want to bring the best out of them.

Hello! I’m a recent graduate who has just finished my final year exams for a Bachelor of Science in Data Science and Business Analytics. I have a strong passion for mathematics and statistics, and I’m captivated by the fascinating field of data science! I also have experience teaching primary and secondary mathematics, which stems from my passion for the subject.

With a strong foundation in both theory and practical applications, I’m eager to share my expertise and help students navigate the exciting landscape of Mathematics, English and other key subjects. My academic background has equipped me with a deep understanding of statistical methods, data analysis, and the art of transforming raw data into actionable insights, which I hope to share with the students I teach.

I am dedicated to creating a learning environment that not only imparts knowledge but also makes the journey enjoyable and accessible to everyone.

A*A*A* at A-LevelOffer from LeedsOffer from LeicesterAchieved 7 9s at GCSE

I am a third year medical student at the University of Leeds. I received A*A*A* at A Levels in Biology physics and maths. I also achieved an A in my EPQ on the immune system in space which combined my passion for medicine and astrology. I completed the UCAT (2730 SJT band 2) and BMAT entrance exams. I then received 2 offers to study medicine following both MMI interviews.
At GCSE, I achieved grade 9s in Maths, English Language/Literature, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Spanish.
Since I dedicate a lot of time to my course and studying, in my free time I like to get creative and paint or socialise with friends. I have always been keen to help other people and enjoy devoting my free time to volunteering in my local community. It is an incredibly rewarding experience to be part of the process of someone’s success and I enjoy sharing my knowledge and skills with other people if it helps them.

Hi, I’m Nathan. I am an Oxford Undergraduate offering tuition in mathematics at a variety of levels. I can also offer support with the MAT. I’m a student but have long and happy experience in informal tutoring and have been a great help for many since primary school. More recently, I have amassed over 30k reputation and reached 150k people as the user FShrike on the Mathematics Stack Exchange, volunteering my ‘tutoring’ services by answering over 900 questions almost exclusively at undergraduate level.

Although I have not finished my undergraduate in mathematics, I am comfortably attending fourth year lectures and, depending on the topic, may have a lot of experience in a particular area of undergraduate or graduate mathematics. If you would like to dip your toes into some university mathematics or more formally cover some areas then I may be able to help a great deal; this will depend on the topic and would have to be discussed.

I am keen to explore the deeper mathematics behinds things studied in school and enjoy tangential discussions that go beyond the syllabus. I care far more about the reasons why things are true than I do about the facts themselves: students are mostly just taught to accept facts at the school level, but I am always willing to go further and explore why these ‘facts’ are actually facts (or, perhaps, to explore why these ‘facts’ are not always true and the reality is far more subtle than what is presented in school – this is a common occurrence). Those I’ve helped would say my main strengths are my warm and engaging manner, and that I am, where possible, happy to explain things in a variety of equivalent ways at a variety of different levels of detail.

Hi, I’m Fran! I am a postgraduate student at UCL, studying for MSc Science Technology and Society, which I hope to finish in 2024. In 2022, I graduated with a BA in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge, where I specialised in Materials Science in my final year. I’m super passionate about science, and love science communication and policy-making. In my spare time, I enjoy rock-climbing, reading, board games, and music.
I have been tutoring privately for around 5 years now, and I love it! I enjoy spreading my passion for science and love discussing new and interesting topics and issues in science with my students. I think it’s really important to engage children and young people with science, to encourage the next generation of medics, mathematicians, scientists, and engineers.

Hi, I’m Rajdeep from London, currently in my fourth year at Imperial College London, studying Medicine. Having navigated the challenging process of applying to medical school myself, I understand how daunting and stressful it can be. My goal is to share insights and strategies with medical school applicants to help them succeed in securing a place on their desired course.

During my time at school, I mentored students and developed an understanding of what makes lessons effective. My enthusiastic and engaging teaching approach ensures that students build confidence while addressing areas where they wish to improve. I adapt to different learning styles, helping each student achieve their academic goals. Outside of academics, I enjoy playing American football and participating in various sports.

Zakir is clearly very knowledgeable about the processes behind A level maths, and is able to explain the reason for doing particular methods in order to better understand them. It’s also helpful that he has very recently completed his A levels, and so can pass on important exam techniques.

This lesson was very helpful in covering topics that I especially struggled with and I think the strategies that I’ve learned will be very helpful in the long run. Thanks a lot, once again, for the productive lesson Liv, it was very helpful. You have a great energy and will to help, this is the least I could gather from an hour long lesson :) Looking forward to continue with the rest of the lessons.

In the two lessons I had with Liv, all the topics that we covered in class were discussed and broken down in a comprehensive manner. She was of great help when understanding the rationale behind every step to solve a question and I believe that I am a bit more confident with regards to the types of questions we discussed in our lessons. Thank you Liv for all the help that you provided in the two lessons, it surely helped me.
