A-Level Ancient History Tutors : 1-1 Exam Preparation

I’m Daniel, a 4th year UCL medical student. For the past 6 years I have perfected my skills as a tutor through attending many teaching courses both within military organisations and civilian, so that I can help others get what they want through the subjects I provide services in. Having come from a poor state school and being the only person to apply for medicine in my school, I understand how tough the process is, especially with no help. That is why I want to deliver high quality, efficient tutoring to help others achieve their full potential and act as a mentor/guide so that no questions are left unanswered and students have a clear view on how to achieve their goals. I work very systematically starting looking at all topics generally and assessing abilities then honing in on students weaknesses whilst pushing them in all over topics so they don’t fall behind, leaving no stones unturned and honing on students weaknesses and turning them into strengths. My purpose it to motivate students, teach them topics they struggle to understand and analysing their patterns of answering to correct logic teaching them skills so they can succeed in any exam or interview they attend.

Hiya! My name is Benjamin and I am a fresh graduate who took History at Emmanuel College in Cambridge. I am a keen lover of all things history related and have a particular passion for medieval history. I love playing Touch Rugby and the Saxophone in my spare time, and enjoy reading further around my subject. I studied at St Albans School for Boys, and took a wide array of subjects for GCSE including triple science, maths, English literature and language, French, history, German and Ancient Greek. There, I scored nine 9 grades and one 6 grade (in English language). For A Level, I studied economics, history, politics and French achieving two A* and two A grades. This wide base of topics has equipped me with a diverse skill set to bring to any tutee session, allowing the most to be made of the time available to us!

I’m a second year engineering student at the University of Cambridge. A few of my hobbies are cricket and gym and i love to watch f1. Hello, my name is Ariana Rubio. I am a recent graduate of the University of Oxford (2023), where I achieved a high 2:1 in English Language & Literature. I scored in the top 10% (55/60) on the ELAT (admissions test for English) and performed well at interview to win a place at Oxford. I am currently teaching English abroad and applying for master’s degrees in English.

At secondary school, I got 11 A*s at GCSE, including English Literature, English Language, Maths, and Additional Maths. I got an A* in English Literature A-level and D1’s (above the A* equivalent) in History and Philosophy Pre-U’s. I won the Prize for Outstanding Academic Achievement, which is awarded to the top scholar in the year, in Years 11, 12, and 13.

Alongside maintaining my high academic standards, I have tutored for a number of years. I volunteered as a homework tutor at my local library from 2015-2019, helping students in years 1-11. As an academic mentor at my school, I tutored younger students in English and History from 2017 to 2019.

Hello! My name is Fran, and I am just about to enter my first year studying Music at Oxford University having just finished my International Baccalaureate with a score of 43. At the more advanced level I have a strong basis in humanities and essay writing, taking History, English Literature, and Music at IB Higher Level and essays from all contributing to my admission to Oxford. My particular interests in History include authoritarianism and cultural history, but I believe that the right essay structure can apply to any aspect of the subject at GCSE or Sixth Form level and is often the key to ensuring success. I am an avid reader, with my favourite books ranging from fiction by Virginia Woolf and Donna Tartt to academic historical books and essays by thinkers such as Simone de Beauvoir.

My specialism being Music, I achieved Grade 8 Distinction on the oboe aged 14 and a Distinction in my ARSM Diploma aged 16. I have a strong theory knowledge and am experienced in teaching up to approximately GCSE – A Level standard theory.
