About Me
Hi! I’m Priyanka. I’m entering second year of uni at LSE and I study Economics & Economic History. I was born and brought up in Dubai and followed the Indian system of education, which in my opinion is insanely intense (especially the math). I love sports, music and reading. I was a national level swimmer and chess player. I also love dance and music, it’s the best form of therapy for me.
As a kid I never found learning fun but I soon realised the difference a teacher can make in one’s learning journey. And that’s why I wanted to tutor too, so I can help make a difference and do my part. I am very chill and I aim for my classes to be a reflection of that, but at the same time I expect effort to be put in from the student’s side as well. Just know you are going to have a great time learning!
My teaching style
I don’t just want to be a tutor, I like to know my students on a more personal level. I think establishing that connection is very important when teaching. There will be homework after every class, it could be solving problems, watching a video that I think might help or just preparing for the next class. Either at the end of every week, or at the end of every topic or concept covered, there will either be an oral or written quiz.
It’s going to be very interactive, so be prepared to talk and ask a lot of questions!
My Proudest Achievements
Professionally, as a student, my proudest achievement has been winning the Sheikh Hamdan Award for outstanding academic excellence. It’s extremely difficult to win and I was very proud of myself because I knew how much it meant to my parents too!
