Hi, I’m Amelie! I am French with Chinese origins, born and raised in Paris and Shanghai. My multicultural background has made me fluent in French, English, and Chinese. Educated entirely in the French curriculum, I graduated with highest honors in the French Baccalauréat. Currently, I’m an undergraduate student in London.
Being trilingual, I absolutely understand how daunting it is to learn a new language but I am here to make it easier! I provide a supportive and encouraging atmosphere that makes learning French enjoyable and stress-free. The lessons will be tailored to the specific needs of each student, enhancing your learning experience and making it more effective! I will not just be teaching a language, but also introducing you to French culture, history, and traditions.
Besides my academic interests, I have developed strong leadership and public speaking skills by being a
member of my school’s MUN club. As captain of the swim team, I have participated in many competitions and provided guidance to the younger members of our team, thus developing my communication skills.
I am a friendly and outgoing and I try to keep my lessons engaging and fun! I look forward to meeting you!
My teaching style
I specialize in offering comprehensive French lessons for both beginners and advanced learners. My lessons encompass a broad spectrum of skills, including grammar, speech, reading, and vocabulary, with a focus on developing fluency in French. In our initial lesson, we’ll set clear objectives and identify your personal strengths and weaknesses.
My teaching approach is dynamic and interactive, utilizing a variety of sources tailored to your unique needs. We’ll delve into conversational skills, grammar, and vocabulary through engaging dialogues, readings, and practical exercises relevant to everyday life. Creating a fun and motivating learning environment is key to my methodology. I adjust the pace of our lessons to ensure you are comfortable and fully engaged with the material.
My Proudest Achievements
Academically, my proudest achievement has been participating in the “Concours général”, the most prestigious national competition in France, in both Chinese and Biology and awarded a mention for Chinese. Receiving my offer from UCL was also one of my proudest moments, as I have graduated entirely from the French curriculum.
