My teaching style

I have had over 12 years of experience working with high-risk offenders within the Prison Service and have also worked as a Youth Mentor in an alternative education setting. I am very diligent, organised and hardworking, have strong communication skills and have a track record in working in successful teams.

PROFILE

• I am a trained facilitator in national accredited cognitive behavioural therapy programmes, specially targeted at the clinical needs of offenders. These include TSP The Thinking Skills Programme (‘TSP’) and Controlling Anger and Learning to Manage it (‘CALM’)
• A highly skilled and experienced Offender Behaviour Programme Treatment Manager, with 12 years’ experience working with high-risk offenders within the Prison Service, who presented with a range of clinical needs and mental health issues. This included working with a multidisciplinary team including Education, Forensic Psychologists and the Mental Health Team, to assess prisoners’ treatment needs
• I currently work as a Youth Mentor in an alternative educational setting which encourages learners to explore different methods of learning and development.
• I have also worked in the private sector, as a Trading Director for a sales company, DS Group International Limited. This involved sourcing, trading and distributing liquidated/clearance consumer stock from companies nationally and globally.
