About Me
During the months coming up to my GCSEs, I spent hours revising everyday, for 6 months straight. I ended up getting only grade 9s and 8s so it paid off, but from this period of time I learnt the most efficient learning techniques and also the ability to understand what exam markers are looking for. I then achieved A*A*A in my A levels for Maths, Biology and Chemistry and am now in my third year studying medicine at Oxford University. I now want to help others reach their dream universities and careers through high GCSE and A level grades, but also by helping develop their character at the same.
When it comes to university applications, I find it best to take some time first to get to understand the student and their passion for the subject. Oxbridge tutors look for applicants who display a real passion for Medicine, and so I make sure to nurture this passion over months of preparation. This could include, supplementing the core GCSE/A Level science content with relevant connections to physiology/higher level content, discuss relevant medical topics and explore a couple areas of medicine that the student feels most passionate about. All this will massively boost their application to medical school, from the personal statement, to entrance exams and interview.
My teaching style
I like to go through the specification of the subject in question, going through each and every spec point. By using this method I ensure that every possible corner of the subject is covered and nothing is left out, and it has proven successful for me. After teaching the knowledge and ensuring the student understands everything, we then attempt past paper questions to imitate the exam conditions, help the student’s application of knowledge during exams and improve the student’s overall exam technique.
