About Me
I am currently in my third year of studying Psychology at Cardiff University, and I am also on placement at a mental health hospital, where I am gaining hands-on experience in the field. My academic background, combined with practical insights from my placement, has equipped me with a strong understanding of psychological theories and concepts, particularly in mental health.
I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and helping others succeed academically. My keen interest in teaching, along with my ability to explain complex ideas in an accessible and engaging way, makes me excited to support students in their learning journey. I am particularly eager to tutor in psychology, mental health, and related subjects, offering personalized guidance to help students grasp challenging material and develop their critical thinking skills.
I am committed to creating a positive, supportive learning environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions, think critically, and grow in their understanding.
My teaching style
My preferred teaching style is student-centered, interactive, and adaptable to individual learning preferences. I chose to focus on clear communication, explaining concepts in simple terms with relatable examples to make complex topics more understandable. Engagement is key, with the tutor encouraging active participation through questions, quizzes, and discussions to keep students involved and thinking critically. I also use multimedia tools like screen sharing, digital whiteboards, and visuals to enhance the learning experience. I provides constructive feedback throughout the session, addressing any misunderstandings and reinforcing key concepts. By fostering a supportive and flexible environment, I encourages students to develop problem-solving skills and gain confidence, ultimately empowering them to learn and succeed independently.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievement is my current placement working with brain-injured patients at a mental health hospital, where I have gained invaluable hands-on experience in providing care and support. This experience has not only deepened my understanding of psychological concepts but has also enhanced my ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and empathetically. Working with individuals who face unique challenges has taught me how to tailor my approach to meet diverse needs, a skill I can apply in teaching. This has strengthened my passion for supporting others’ growth, and I look forward to bringing this same level of care, patience, and adaptability to my role as an online tutor, helping students overcome obstacles and succeed in their learning.
