I am currently a History and Politics undergraduate at the University of Cambridge and would love to help others achieve their potential. Having studied at the Henrietta Barnett School, I have a strong academic background across both the humanities and quantitive subjects, achieving 11 Grade 9s at GCSE. Although I now specialise in History and Politics, I gained an A* in English Literature and A in Mathematics at A level and remain passionate about sharing the methods and techniques that helped me succeed. I know how valuable the right support can be and have enjoyed mentoring others through the learning process. I aim not only to help students reach their academic goals, whether at GCSE or in Oxbridge application preparation for History or HSPS, but also to grow their confidence and foster a genuine enjoyment of learning.
My teaching style
My teaching style combines interactive discussion and exam focused strategies tailored to each student’s needs, including sufficient past paper practice and feedback. As an English tutor I focus on building strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of texts and confidence in essay writing, while creating quote banks and providing exemplar answers. For Maths I ensure an understanding of key concepts and methods before applying it to practice questions.
My past experience
I have had over 2 years experience working with students aged 13-16, focusing particularly on preparation for GCSE exams for both AQA and Edexcel exam boards. I most recently helped a student improve from a grade 4 to 8 in GCSE English.
My Proudest Achievements
Acceptance to the University of Cambridge for History and Politics has been my proudest achievement so far – especially being the only student for this subject at my college in my year.
