Fabiana
About Me
Hello there! My name is Fabiana and I am a masters student studying Creative Writing at The Open University in England. I have recently completed my undergraduate degree in English Literature and Creative Writing, also at The OU.
My passion for books and writing began early in life. I have always journaled and wrote for pleasure, not to mention the endless hours buried in a good book. I don’t have a preferred genre – I like a good story, but I found myself in awe when I first read Shakespeare’s Hamlet. Most people see it as hard work and boring, but if you look closely, it’s like a puzzle! I’m about to get carried away here…
I live with my partner and three energetic Maltese dogs in a cosy cul-de-sac in Buckinghamshire, where I make the most of my quiet study no matter the weather outside.
My teaching style
I always prefer to adapt to the students’ needs. I am happy to discuss any projects/homework/exams that need extra attention and make plans together to get back on track or achieve the students’ goals. I find that a good start to understanding a subject when there is some difficulty is to identify what’s not working and then take it to the next step.
My Proudest Achievements
I self-published a novel a few years ago, and also had a story included in an anthology published by The Open University.
I’m also proud to see my little book of Haiku filling up! I endeavour to write one every day to get the creative juices flowing.
