13About Me
As a current student at the University of Cambridge, I understand what it takes to make a successful medicine application.
At present, I offer tutoring in the medical admissions process including general advice, UCAT, BMAT, and personal statement work. I also offer the sciences and maths at GCSE level as well as biology at A-level for students who would like help in these areas.
Every student is unique and I aim to cater my sessions to the individual- if you’ve any particular concerns or areas that you struggle with, we can dedicate more time to these with the aim of overcoming them. Sometimes this can mean spending multiple lessons on one subject, whilst at other times it means refreshing your memory on the basics and working from there. Anything is possible in terms of how we can make your lessons a valuable (and enjoyable!) experience.
My teaching style
Initial sessions aim at finding out which areas of your subject come naturally and which are more challenging, in order to prioritise these tricky aspects in future learning. Each week I aim to spend a session delving into a subject area in detail, with a focus on active recall, and using practise questions from real papers to ensure that learning is translating into tangible results.
Homework is provided if preferred, but I widely cater to your personal academic aims and requirements so this is not mandatory.
My past experience
I have been tutoring for over three years now, with my earliest experiences in medical admissions tutoring. Students see good results, often reaching their target university offers/ reaching their desired grades in examinations.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievement academically would have to be receiving my offer for Cambridge University, followed closely by my scores in exams since starting here! I continue to strive for academic excellence and hope to help you achieve this too!
