About Me

I’m an orthopaedic surgical doctor in training with a long-standing passion for education. I’ve tutored students across a wide range of stages, from GCSEs and A-Levels (particularly the sciences) through to medical school admissions, including UCAT/BMAT, interview preparation and personal statement coaching. I also support medical students aiming for top results in both pre-clinical and clinical years (including OSCE preparation), and junior doctors preparing for postgraduate exams such as MRCS, as well as USMLE Step exams and competitive specialty interviews.

My teaching style is structured, encouraging, and focused on deep understanding. I help students build strong foundations, develop critical thinking, and, most importantly, learn how to learn, so they can perform in exams without relying on rote memorisation and carry those skills forward long term. Sessions are tailored to each student’s starting point and goals, with a clear plan, targeted practice, and ongoing feedback to build confidence and consistency.

Outside of work, I’m a big believer in balance and enjoy football, cricket, tennis, and dancing. I’m committed to giving every student my full attention and creating a supportive environment that maximises both results and genuine mastery.

My teaching style

I teach from first principles, making sure students understand the “why” before building speed and exam technique. Sessions are highly interactive and question-led, with students doing most of the thinking and talking, with active recall throughout. I’ll regularly ask them to explain concepts back to me, apply ideas to new scenarios, and practise exam-style questions so they learn to retrieve and use knowledge under pressure rather than rely on rote memorisation.

I tailor the pace and depth to each student’s starting point, use clear frameworks to keep things simple, and focus on turning weaker areas into strengths through targeted practice and feedback. I also help students develop a repeatable study system, including what to revise, how to practise, and how to learn from mistakes, so that progress is consistent, confidence grows, and the skills transfer well beyond a single exam.

My past experience

I have tutored at all educational levels, from helping students achieve their highest grades at GCSEs, A-levels, gain entry into their chosen university and for medicine and even medical students to achieve amongst the top deciles within their year in medicine and even doctors, for post-graduate exams like MRCS/MRCP and USMLE Step exams.

My Proudest Achievements

Academically, I’ve achieved some of the highest GCSEs within my school and year group (12A*s and 2As), and a 96% average UMS for AS-level and gained offers from UCL, Bart’s and Leicester medical schools, with strong UCAT/BMAT scores and a refined and natural interview style. Within university, whilst living a diverse and socially active life, I still scored amongst the top 10-20% of the year within my year group at UCL and as a doctor, I have completed post-graduate exams 3-4 years ahead of requirement (at FY2 level) such as MRCS and have recently passed Step 1 USMLE exam at the first attempt.
