Luvya
About Me
Hi! My name is Luvya and I am a first year law student at University College London (UCL) and would be thrilled to be you tutor! I specialise in guiding and supporting students through UCAS applications, specifically for law. This includes preparing for the LNAT, personal statements and oxbridge interviews. I know how competitive and complicated the process is having recently completed it myself, but I have become very familiar with it and will be able to answer any questions you have and help you at any stage of the process. Having received offers from UCL, Kings College London and Cambridge, I have extensive resources on how to prepare for A levels, LNAT, personal statements and the oxbridge interview. This was evident through my excellent score of 33 in the LNAT and having one of the best personal statements in my school as well as passing the Cambridge interview. I will be able to share all these resources as well as my own experience, knowledge and tips on how to succeed, stand out and beat the competition!
My teaching style
My teaching philosophy is rooted in personalisation and discussion. I believe that each student is unique, with their own learning style and pace. That’s why I tailor my approach to meet your specific needs and goals. I encourage students to be proactive and challenge their opinions and ideas regularly, to recreate the environment of not only an interview, but also law at university in general. Together, we’ll develop a customised plan to help you excel in your studies. I can conduct mock interviews and provide detailed feedback afterwards as well work on any issues you may have.
My past experience
I have been a mentor to younger students in my 6th form, helping them with their UCAS applications and being a key point of contact for any advice they need. I have also helped over 20 people in my year with writing their personal statements, with successful applicants going off to LSE, Cambridge and UCL. I also tutor English to KS3 and 11+ students and am willing to help anyone with 11+ preparation or KS3 and gcse English. I have also completed 30 hours of tutoring on study mind !
My Proudest Achievements
Receiving my offers for law from UCL and Cambridge were definitely high points, as there were my dream universities. My high score in the LNAT made this possible so I was quite happy with that. I was also nominated as the valedictorian for my school, which was a great honour. I am also very proud of the fact I have helped others, especially friends, succeed in their applications and interviews and that they are now at their dream universities!
