15About Me
I recently obtained an integrated master’s degree in astrophysics from the University of Cambridge with First Class Honours. Through this, I’ve developed extensive knowledge and understanding of both mathematics and physics. Prior to university, I obtained four A* grades at A level in mathematics, further mathematics, physics, and chemistry. With this experience, I want to help inspire a new generation of budding mathematicians and physicists, particularly those who have Oxbridge aspirations. I have a year and a half of tutoring experience, with lessons carried out both online and in-person. My previous students have seen rapid increases in their abilities in both mathematics and the sciences. As well as this being great for the students, I found it to be very rewarding for me, and I felt proud hearing about their test results. This is something that I want to continue now that I have graduated.
My teaching style
My lessons are always adapted to the student’s needs and abilities. I like them to come to me with a specific topic or concept they’re struggling with and I try to break it down intuitively and with helpful examples. Once the conceptual understanding is there, the lessons move on to exam practice to consolidate what has been learnt. If the student feels that homework would be beneficial, I am happy to set it and will provide support outside of the contact hours if needed.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievement is graduating from the University of Cambridge with First Class Honours, ranking 7th in my cohort.
