15About Me
My name is Lizzie and I have recently graduated with a degree in Classics and Oriental Studies (Arabic) at Magdalen College, Oxford. I studied Latin, Maths, and Spanish at A Level, achieving 3 A*s.
My degree was incredibly broad, covering languages, history, literature, philosophy, and historical linguistics (and more!), so I can help with a broad range of topics and provide recommendations for any subjects you would like to delve into further. Having gone through the Oxford admissions process myself, I know what Oxbridge are looking for, right from personal statements all the way to interviews. I had a fantastic time at Oxford and hope to help others achieve this also.
My experience receiving and giving tuition means that I really understand personally how beneficial it can be for everyone at every level. I keep this in mind at all times as I teach and work to ensure my sessions are rewarding.
My teaching style
My experience extensive experience has enabled me to adapt effectively for every single student, and I plan and design my lessons for only one student in mind.
I really work hard to get to know every pupil’s individual needs and make sure that everyone knows the goals we are aiming to hit: I think it is very helpful and beneficial it is to understand where we’re going at each stage.
I also aim to make every session really enjoyable, so I cater my lessons to my students’ interests as much as possible.
My past experience
I have extensive experience teaching primary and secondary level, both in the voluntary and private sector. I have also provided Oxbridge admissions help for Classics.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements are definitely getting into Oxford and graduating, having learned two languages from scratch. I often found it hard to have confidence in my academic ability, but I am incredibly proud to say that I successfully completed a very challenging admissions process and difficult university exams, and gained a lot of confidence along the way.
