About Me

Hi! My name is Ella and I am in my 3rd year studying Medicine at University of Nottingham. I love the course so far, I find the content interesting and enjoy applying it to a care setting. It is worth the intense and stressful few months of medicine application but I would love to help make someone else’s experience smoother and less scary. Therefore, I am offering to help with admission tests, personal statements and interview prep which are all things I have experience with in the past.
Furthermore, I have experience as a subject tutor in particularly in sciences and maths so get in touch if this is something you might find useful. I am friendly and flexible so can fit around your schedule and learning style.
I balance my uni work with a range of hobbies from getting outdoors in the Peak District to trampolining and regular gym sessions too.

My teaching style

In my experience everyone has a different teaching styles which works for them. I will always keep my lessons as interactive as possible while adapting to the individual students preference whether that visualising information as mind maps, repetition with practice questions or talking through hard to grasp concepts.

My past experience

I have successful tutoring experience particularly in maths and science but also with subjects outside of my comfort zone such as history and geography. I have taught a range of primary to sixth form students so can adapt to different ages and abilities appropriately. I have also led sessions for small groups on the UCAT admissions tests.

My Proudest Achievements

During my year off, after working for the majority of the year I set myself a challenge to walk the 640 miles of Cornish and Devonshire coastline. It was during covid so options for travel and hostels/campsites were limited. I walked for about 8 weeks in total with only a few days off and carried all of my equipment, this was where I most tested my resilience and problem solving skills and has hugely benefited my confidence.
