About Me
I am an undergraduate student at the University of Reading doing Biomedical engineering. I have recently finished my first year and am now moving on to my 2 nd year. I did maths, triple science ( chemistry, biology and physics ), geography, Spanish, computer science and business studies for my GCSE. For my A levels, I did Maths, biology, chemistry and an EPQ. My EPQ was on tissue engineering. I also have done many python courses and have learnt to code in C and C++ as part of my first year.
I used to do volunteer tutoring at my secondary school for chemistry and biology to help GCSE students who needed some extra support. I have also done volunteer tutoring with Sucess4all. I taught maths and science to students who were doing their GCSEs ( mainly worked with exam boards AQA and Edexcel). I also taught English language and maths to students in year 7.
My teaching style
I firmly believe that active recall is crucial to help students retain the mountains of information they have to learn. This is why I usually start my lessons by doing flashcards on previous lessons’ content. Additionally, practice topic questions and past paper questions are crucial for testing the content and applying the knowledge students have learnt.
