About Me

University of Oxford Master’s Graduate in Mathematics and Philosophy
• First Class Honours UG
• Awarded 2020 Gibbs Prize for performance in Mathematics examinations

I specialize in online one-to-one tuition for Maths and Computer Science-related Oxbridge applications, with over 1000 hours experience. I have helped students receive offers from Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial. I also tutor undergraduate Pure Mathematics.

Ever since mentoring students at the Oxford Mathematical Institute, my main passion has been supporting students in their Oxbridge Maths and Compsci applications, primarily MAT and interview preparation. I enjoy seeing my students develop a strong curiosity for mathematics, asking “What if?”, “Why not?” and applying techniques creatively to gain new insight and pry into problems. Using student feedback and performance, I continuously optimize and build on my wealth of private Oxbridge resources to help raise their edge over the competition.

My teaching style

My aim is to help you gain a strong understanding of concepts that will enable you to independently solve new problems and confidently explore the subject areas. To do this, I teach how to study mathematics creatively by proactively varying questions and shifting perspectives to make links between different areas of the subject. For admissions tests such as the MAT, I put a heavy emphasis on problem progression in long questions and how to interpret results and techniques in early parts so that you can correctly apply them in later parts.

My past experience

I have over 1000 hours tutoring experience in Oxbridge University admissions for Mathematics and Computer Science-related degrees, specializing in the MAT and interview preparation. I have helped students receive offers from Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial to study Maths and joint degrees.

During my degree I worked as a Student Mentor at the Oxford Mathematical Institute, supporting pupils in their MAT preparation. I’ve led MAT, problem-solving and personal statement seminars, later going on to produce full video courses on the MAT and Oxbridge Maths interviews. I am highly experienced with conducting mock interviews and teaching interview strategies such as shifting perspectives, proactive exploration and problem-solving frameworks for broad questions.

I offer a wide range of unique private resources including MAT topic guides, exercise sheets, mock MAT papers, Oxbridge maths interview question banks, and guides for the Personal Statement and the interview stage.

I have also tutored undergraduate Pure Maths topics including Linear Algebra, Calculus, Real and Complex Analysis, Groups, Rings, Set Theory and MVC for economics.
Other areas I’ve tutored: STEP, IC AERO/EEE exam, Philosophy interview and Personal Statement preparation, mathematical problem-solving and Introduction to Philosophy of Mathematics.

My Proudest Achievements

I have helped students receive offers to study Maths (+joint degrees) at Oxford and Cambridge. I am very proud of them. I enjoy seeing my students improve their problem-solving and develop their own curiosity for mathematical investigation. I was also pleased to have been awarded the 2020 Gibbs Prize for performance in Mathematics papers, scoring full marks on the Set Theory exam that year.
