About Me

Hi, I’m Neeraja!
The pathway to studying Medicine at University has many challenges in the way. But as a medical student who has experienced these challenges, I have the tips and tricks to help you boost your chances at getting into Medical School.

I love to help aspiring medics get into Medical School and have contributed to Widening Participation schemes through my University to help students be better equipped for the UCAT, BMAT and interviews. I am also a University Representative of the British Tamil Medical Association where I support and teach aspiring medics as well as current medical students through the organisation.

Having achieved 10 Grade 9s at GCSE, AAAA at A-Levels and two offers to study Medicine at UCL and University of Birmingham, I have always been ambitious and taken the most of every opportunity to learn more. As a student now currently at Imperial College London for my iBSc year, I have also achieved through my journey at Medical School, achieving both a prize and distinction and being in top decile.

I believe I can use my passion to teach my students and my own experience to guide you through your journey to Medicine. I am someone that puts in all the hard work and is dedicated and committed to helping aspiring medics.

My teaching style

My teaching style is mostly flexible to the learning style of the student. I believe communication is key to being a great teacher. I always discuss with the student what their expectations are for the lessons and which topics they wish to spend more time on prior to the lesson. I then create a strategic plan for our lessons on the topics we will cover and the order we cover them in so that I can help my students to the maximum of my ability.
I like my lessons to be quite interactive as I know this helps the student to remember more content and to feel more confident in their own abilities. My lessons usually follow a plan of teaching content and technique first and then practicing using questions, whilst closely imitating the real environment for tests and interviews.

My past experience

I have experience with teaching some students within my community and those students have recommended me to others and have achieved well in the subjects I taught them.
I have taught at a UCAT Crash Course through the British Tamil Medical Association and have also wrote a section of an e-Book about MMI Interviews for aspiring medics.
I have taught Basic Life Support at a school as a St John Ambulance Cadet.

My Proudest Achievements

My proudest achievements are achieving: 10 Grade 9s at GCSE, my offers for Medicine from UCL and University of Birmingham, a prize for 2nd best essay in my year at medical school and distinction in Year 1 of Medicine.
