Hey!
I hope you are doing well.
My name is Helena, I am a 3rd year student at Cambridge University and I study Human, Social and Political Sciences. I specialise in Politics and Sociology. My background is simple: I come from a school where people don’t typically get into Cambridge. Due to this, I am well aware of how daunting the application process may seem, how nerve-racking it may all feel, but I will gladly be here to guide you every step of the way. You will make the best application and interview you possibly can because I will listen to your concerns and give you all the tips and tricks needed to succeed. I studied Economics, History and English Literature for A levels (all of which I will be happy to tutor students for) and got an A* in all 3. I have averaged a high 2:1 in both of my years at Cambridge and study Politics and Sociology within HSPS. I also got admitted to all other universities to which I applied for different subjects (Politics at LSE, Politics, Philosophy and Law at Warwick and Politics and Philosophy with a year abroad at Lancaster and Birmingham) and so will be able to make sure your applications benefit all subjects you chose to apply to or need to be interviewed in.
My teaching style
My main aim is to humanise the application and interview process for all of my students, applying to Oxbridge is daunting enough. I will offer invaluable advice and guide students thorough any content they are required to know whilst also being a compassionate ear to any of their reservations about interviewing or their applications as a whole. You will only do your best if you believe in yourself, and I hope to provide and make space for that self-belief whilst giving them the tools to succeed along the way.
My past experience
Yes I do, over the summer (June 2023- September 2023) I taught English Language in Thailand. I made the lesson plans myself and taught 4 lessons a day for 5 days a week. Moreover, I was Access Officer for the ACS and within that role planned an admissions conference for prospective Cambridge students which offered them admissions advice, had interviews with current students and much more.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievement is going to Teach in Thailand this summer, it was a big step out of my comfort zone but I am really happy I believed in myself and made an impact in children’s lives.
