I am thrilled to introduce myself as a dedicated and passionate individual seeking to share the beauty and richness of the Mandarin language with learners from around the world. My name is Gracy, and I come to you with a diverse background that spans both academic and practical experiences.

Currently serving as the Academic Officer at the Student Union in London, United Kingdom, my role involves collaborating with fellow officers to plan and execute linguistics academic activities. This experience has not only enhanced my organizational and communication skills but has also honed my abilities as a team leader. I believe that effective language teaching extends beyond the classroom, and my time in the Student Union has provided me with invaluable insights into creating engaging and immersive learning experiences.

My journey in language education took me to the Chinese University of Hong Kong in Changsha, China, where I participated in the CUHK Global Leader Programme – Professional Development in English Language Teaching. This practical learning opportunity allowed me to not only complete the program but also gain a deep understanding of the challenges and requirements of teaching at a higher education level. The experience has equipped me with advanced critical thinking abilities, a crucial skill in fostering an environment of active learning.

Eager to further refine my language skills, I obtained a Certificate of Mandarin Proficiency, achieving Second Class proficiency. This certification reflects my commitment to mastering the language and imparting that knowledge to my students. Mandarin is not merely a subject for me; it is a cultural bridge that connects people and fosters mutual understanding.

In my role as a participant in the ASDAN Scholars Cup in Changsha, China, I had the opportunity to act as a leader and contribute to a team debate contest. This experience allowed me to refine my communication and leadership skills while guiding my teammates in generating compelling debating ideas. The result was a remarkable achievement, with both Team and Individual Championships earned.

My academic journey includes successfully completing International A-levels in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. This rigorous academic background has instilled in me a strong foundation in analytical thinking, which I believe is a valuable asset in adapting teaching methods to suit the diverse learning styles of my students.
