About Me
Hello, I am Francis. I am a third year medical student at the University of Aberdeen, currently ranked 1st in the UK for Medicine (The Guardian, 2025).
A bit about me, is that I studied an honours degree in Biomedical Science and a Masters of Science in Precision Medicine, graduating with distinction. So I have a lot of wisdom that I can pass down from insight into student life, admissions processes and study tips.
I am uniquely positioned as I have experience in both an online interview and an in-person traditional MMI interview circuit. I received offers from both of my interviews at a Scottish and an English university meaning I understand how the health care systems and the curriculum may differ between regions. I believe this means I can help you have a successful interview regardless if it is online, in person or for a Scottish or English medical school. This is increasingly important as medical applicants broaden their application options. Having recently gone through the medical school application process I have up to date experience on strategically applying to universities and what exactly they are looking for at that all important interview.
I have sat the UCAT a couple of times enhancing my skills each time, and with MedicMinds excellent resources, I am sure I can support you in achieving your best score possible. You may even surprise yourself…
I look forward to helping you reach your goal and good luck with your journey into medicine!
My teaching style
My teaching style is all about you. It’s going to vary from person to person but I always like to get an understanding of what you’re confident in already so we can make these skills a bit sharper. We’ll take the areas you need to improve on a step at a time so you don’t feel overwhelmed and we will consolidate your learning after every lesson. We have plenty of questions to work through to identify the technique that will support you in your exam/interview. There is plenty of theory to learn that I can help to explain in a way complimentary to your learning style. I find working through questions and discussing them is always the best way forward.
My past experience
I experience in teaching from primary school level to Y1 medical students.
