About Me
Hey I’m Mafdy, a recently graduated doctor from Queen Mary University of London.
over 7 years, covering a diverse range of subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Sciences, and English.
I offer tutoring for a variety of local and international examination boards, including the GCSE, IGCSE, A Level, and IB curricula. Engaging with these educational frameworks has enabled me to refine my instructional techniques and expand my knowledge base significantly. My sessions are also enhanced by my 3Es certificate in leadership and learning, which equips me with the skills necessary to tailor teaching sessions effectively to meet the specific needs and preferences of my students.
My experience with examinations extends beyond my participation; I have conducted numerous sessions on effective exam answering strategies, explained marking schemes, and provided guidance on time management during tests. Even during my university years, I continued to assist students with exam preparation by delivering end-of-year lectures on exam formats, question deconstruction, and offering valuable tips and advice for optimal performance.
With several hours of tutoring experience spanning from primary school to university level, I have gathered many skills including communication, patience, professionalism and initiative. My tutoring journey has taken me across various countries, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Malta, and the UK, allowing me to gain insight into different educational systems and examination boards.
My teaching style
Teaching has always been my passion, as I find great satisfaction in providing knowledge and experience to others. Collaborating with students to explore and discuss different approaches to certain topics has not only enabled me to facilitate their learning to its fullest potential but has also enriched my own understanding of the subjects in matter. Exposure to diverse cultures and academic levels during my travels at a young age provided invaluable lessons on how to adapt to the surrounding environment and reach optimal student outcomes.
My teaching style involves establishing strong connections with students, understanding their individual needs, weaknesses and continuously gather feedback to tailor the sessions accordingly. As a visual learner myself, I prioritise the concept of appearance and keep my sessions interactive by incorporating the latest technology into online teaching. Having once been in my students’ shoes, I understand their challenges and strive to help their confidence by offering efficient and concise techniques to overcome any obstacles.
I firmly believe that by equipping students with the necessary tools and fostering independence, I can contribute to their bright and successful futures.
