5About Me
Hi! I am Ashank, a medical student at the University of Oxford. I am a tutor for the UCAT, medicine personal statement, as well as medicine interviews for both Oxbridge and all universities in the UK. I scored in the 99th percentile for the UCAT, and received 4/4 offers from the University of Oxford, King’s College London, Newcastle University, and the University of St. Andrews. Additionally, I am an international student so I definitely can help you work out any of the concerns you may have if you are an international applicant, but can definitely also work with you if you are a domestic applicant looking to boost your UCAT score or interview performance. Teaching is a big passion of mine and one that I always look to improve, so I hope that in our lessons together we can both grow and I can give you the most out of your time in helping you get the medicine offers of your dreams!
My teaching style
I am a flexible teacher, where I like to tailor lessons to a student’s needs as well as their optimal ways of learning. I like to combine lecture style lessons where I utilize slides and official resources, as well as working through problems with students together and help them to develop their thought process and strategies in approaching difficult questions. I also like to let students be independent and attempt to tackle difficult questions by themselves, but always offer a helping hand when they may be struggling.
My past experience
I do have experience with tutoring the UCAT, personal statement, and interviews, where I assisted students in successfully getting offers to the University of Glasgow and St. Andrews.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievements in academics are definitely related to my UCAT score, as well as my offers from the universities that I applied to, but also the offers I was able to assist past students in getting, and seeing how happy they were to feel secure that they will be able to study medicine and become a doctor in the future.
