About Me
Hello! My name is Jolie, and I am a Graduate Entry medical student at the University of Oxford with a strong academic record and a genuine passion for teaching. I come from a neuroscience background, having completed both a Bachelor’s degree and a PhD in Neuroscience before beginning my medical studies. My appreciation for the sciences has truly shaped my tutoring approach, and I specialise in GCSE and A-Level Science.
I have experience as a dissertation supervisor and lecturer, supporting students in improving exam performance, building confidence, and succeeding in competitive university applications. My sessions are structured, supportive, and carefully tailored to each student’s goals—whether you’re aiming for top grades, deeper understanding, or a successful route into medical school.
My teaching style
I take a personalised, structured, and results-driven approach to tutoring. My goal is to build both subject confidence and exam success by identifying each student’s unique strengths, weaknesses, and learning style.
Teaching Methodology: I use active recall, spaced repetition, and exam-focused strategies to deepen understanding and boost retention—especially effective for science subjects and UCAT prep. Lessons are interactive, engaging, and adjusted continuously based on student progress and feedback. I often use diagrams, practice questions, and live problem-solving to reinforce key concepts.
Lesson Structure: Most lessons are 60 minutes, but I also offer 90-minute intensive sessions. I provide optional homework and follow-up resources to reinforce learning between sessions. succeed.
