Annabel
About Me
Hi! I’m Annabel, and I’m passionate about helping students succeed in A-Level Geography and Politics. I have studied both subjects extensively and enjoy breaking down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps, making revision and exam preparation much less daunting. In Geography, I love connecting theory to real-world examples—from climate hazards and coasts to water cycles, urban environments, and global issues—helping students understand how case studies apply to exams. In Politics, I focus on building confidence in understanding political systems, key debates, and essay-writing, encouraging students to think critically and develop their own well-supported arguments. I also have experience tutoring younger students and leading Politics and Geography clubs at my school, which has strengthened my ability to explain concepts clearly, adapt my teaching to different learning styles, and make lessons interactive and engaging. My aim is not just to improve grades, but also to inspire curiosity, independent thinking, and confidence, helping each student reach their full potential in a supportive and tailored way.
My teaching style
My tutoring approach is friendly, patient, and tailored to each student’s learning style. I use a mix of structured notes, active discussion, exam-style questions, and interactive resources to make learning engaging and memorable. I aim not just to improve grades but also to build confidence, curiosity, and independent thinking.
Whether you’re struggling with tricky concepts, aiming for top marks, or preparing for exams, I’m here to guide you every step of the way. Let’s make A-Level Geography and Politics exciting, understandable, and achievable!
My past experience
Yes, I have experience teaching and supporting younger students. I have tutored peers at my school in both Geography and Politics, helping them understand challenging topics, improve exam technique, and build confidence in their work. Additionally, I led the Politics and Geography clubs, where I organised lessons, discussions, and interactive activities to make learning engaging and accessible. Through these roles, I developed strong skills in communication, explanation, and adapting my approach to suit different learning styles, all of which I bring to my tutoring sessions.
My Proudest Achievements
One of my proudest achievements was earning 2 A*s and an A at A-Level, despite missing three months of school in Year 13. Managing to stay on track during this period taught me resilience, self-motivation, and strong independent study skills—qualities I now bring to tutoring my students. Another highlight was receiving five offers from Russell Group universities, which reflects my dedication, organisation, and ability to overcome challenges successfully.
