6About Me
Hello! My name is Ryan, I’m originally from Essex/East London. I am a Master’s student of Modern European History at the University of Oxford, having graduated from Oxford with a BA in History and Modern Languages in 2023. I am a keen traveller, reader, writer, and rugby player.
I am an experienced tutor of History and German at all levels, and English up to GCSE. I am also qualified to tutor Politics up to A-Level, and have experience with both 11+ and 13+ exams. As an Oxford student, I also have first-hand (relatively recent…) experience with the ‘Oxbridge’ admissions system, e.g. the ‘HAT’ and ‘MLAT’ exams and interviews.

My teaching style
I take inspiration in my teaching style from my own experiences as a student. The best teachers are friendly, passionate and inquisitive, and take their students’ ideas seriously. I aim to bring these qualities into my own teaching, regardless of the topic or the student.
My past experience
I have worked for several year as a tutor, both paid and voluntary. I predominantly have experience as a History or German tutor.
My Proudest Achievements
Two recent achievements stand out. One is making it to Oxford as the first person in my family to complete A-levels, let alone go to University. The other is surviving my time in Berlin as an exchange student at the Humboldt-University. It was a difficult transition at a difficult time (the middle of the COVID pandemic) and I’m proud to have persevered with it.
