4About Me
I am a passionate teacher and have been teaching since completing my PGCE in 2005. I have vast experience in teaching A-level and GCSE Economics and Business Studies. I have also taught OCR Cambridge Technical Qualifications in Business Studies. I taught in a comprehensive school in Manchester before moving back to Northern Ireland where I now specialise in online home schooling. Furthermore I can provide support in UCAS and Careers as I held the position of Head of Sixth Form and designated Careers Lead. As a current examiner for Edexcel and previously for AQA I am highly proficient in helping students understand the demands of the exam specification. Considering the wealth of experience that I bring I can assure parents and students that they will receive an exemplary tutoring lesson each time.
My teaching style
I am a collaborative teacher and I will individualise my teaching style to meet the needs of the student depending on their learning style. I will help the student to bridge the gap from their current working at grade to the grade that they want to achieve. This includes helping students to maintain motivation throughout the year so that everyday they do a bit extra in their free time to take responsibility for their own learning.
My past experience
I have 20 years experience as a teacher/tutor. I have taught full classes and 1-1 in a online setting in recent years.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest professional achievements are helping students achieve the A/A* grades that they have wanted to achieve and also helping students who have join me with and E in their final year of A-levels and helping them to progress to a B.
