Hi, I’m Mahatia – a Graphic Design student passionate about helping art and design students get into university and build strong creative portfolios. Having gone through the application process myself, I understand what universities look for and how overwhelming it can feel. I support students with portfolio development, sketchbooks, project ideas, personal statements, and interview preparation.
My skills include branding, typography, layout design, Adobe Creative Suite, and creative thinking. I create relaxed, supportive lessons tailored to each student’s style and goals, helping them grow in confidence and present their work professionally to stand out in competitive art and design courses. I want to get to know you as a person and as an aspiring designer!
I view this as chance to not only share my knowledge but use my own tools, resources, and connections to the upcoming generation.
My teaching style
I like to understand what areas you need help with specifically, gather information from you like portfolios or interests. From there I share resources like my own portfolio, other student examples and experiences. It is really important to me that I understand what you are trying to achieve and best help through examples and feedback.
My Proudest Achievements
My proudest achievement has been becoming a student at Loughborough University – ranked 2nd for Graphic Design in the UK. Being at Loughborough University has not only helped become a designer but has also pushed forward opportunities to get my foot inside the creative industry.
