9About Me
Hi, I’m Will, and I’m a 1st year student studying BDS Dentistry at Bristol. I have had experience in helping students through the first hurdles of the Medicine and Dentistry application process, from GCSEs, to the UCAT, to A-Levels. Having recently been through A-Levels and the university application process myself, I have a clear idea of how to best tailor your application and revision methods for success.
In my A-Levels I achieved 4 A*s in Biology, Chemistry, Maths, and Further Maths, and I undertook a medical-related EPQ. In the UCAT I scored 3310, including 900/900 in the Quantitative Reasoning section.
I found tutoring to be of great help to me towards interview preparation, and I have seen first-hand the impact it can make on exam results, which can allow students to realise their ambitions by achieving spaces in the highest quality universities and courses.
My teaching style
I believe practise followed by instant feedback is the best way to learn. For interview preparation this involves running through mock questions in a similar manner to the actual interview, so that we can discuss the strengths and weaknesses of an answer to improve for next time. For admissions tests and written exams, past paper questions and similar revision resources are very useful to most effectively prepare for the test, with feedback being given during the process, so areas which need a deeper focus can be discovered.
My past experience
I have tutored a number of students through the UCAT, and science GCSEs and A-Levels.
My Proudest Achievements
Whilst I am proud of my academic achievements, equally important are achievements outside of this. I am proud to have volunteered my time to helping lead my school’s Medical Society, and at a local pre-school.
I have also taken pride in my contributions to music and outdoor pursuits throughout my education.
